We Raise Registered Dorper Sheep

The Dorper sheep was developed as a cross bred between the Blackhead Persian sheep and the Dorset Horn sheep. The breed was created in the 1930's by the South African Department of Agriculture. The Dorper is an easy to care for animal that produces a short, light coat of wool and hair that is shed in late spring and summer.

The Dorper is known for its black head. The Dorper adapts well to a variety of climatics and grazing conditions. The Dorper has a thick skin which protects the sheep under harsh climatic conditions.

The Dorper mother's produce excellent milk for their babies. They normally have twins and triplets. They have the ability to breed every eight months.

Our Dorpers are registered with the American Dorper Sheep Breeders' Society.

We at times have registered Dorper sheep available for sale. Call Debra Speyer at (215) 519-6426 or (610) 949-9555 to inquire about our Dorper sheep.
